The IDF has begun developing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) for logistical missions, including evacuation of casualties. The UAVs will be capable of transferring equipment to warriors on the ground, and control axes of movement.
Last month, the Israel Air Force publicly introduced a new UAV called Eitan, which is capable of staying airborne for 24 straight hours, and carry cargo weighing up to one metric ton. The UAV's wingspan is similar to that of a Boeing 737.
The IAF says that the Eitan should be operational within one year's time.
