The Machsom Watch organization charged this week that Israeli promises to remove roadblocks as part of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's "good will gestures" to Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) were false.
The organization claimed that at least 16 of the 24 dirt roadblocks that Defense Minister Ehud Barak told U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice that Israel would remove did not exist. At least two others had already been removed two years ago, said the group.
However, the organization admitted that its report was based on information given to them by a third party, since the IDF did not provide the group with a list of removed roadblocks.
