Finance Ministry Wage Director Eli Cohen has agreed to grant striking high school teachers a one-time bonus that was originally to be given in January 2008.

The payment, which equals a little over a month's salary, was intended to compensate for wage erosion and had already been approved for the National Teachers Union, which has agreed to the Education Ministry's reform plan.
 
Cohen agreed to include the striking Secondary School Teachers' Association in the bonus advance in a meeting Wednesday night with Histadrut national labor federation head Ofer Eini.
