Two popular Turkish Muslim dailies headlined President Shimon Peres's visit to the country with charges that he is a murderer and that Israel is a terrorist state. "Murderer with Muslim blood on his hands: Get Out!" screamed one banner headline.
Other headlines stated, "Israel is a terrorists state" and "That murderer has no place in the parliament." President Peres on Tuesday became the first head of the Jewish state to speak to the Turkish parliament.
Legislator Muhsin Yazicioglu, who heads the Muslim Great Unity Party, told one Muslim newspaper, "I suggest that he puts in his mouth the blue pacifier of the baby he murdered in Kana [a terrorist-based village involved in the Second Lebanon War] and apologizes to the entire world. I will not be present in the parliament when he speaks."
