Western Wall (Kotel) Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz explained to 14 bishops visiting from Austria that they were welcome to pray at the Jewish site but had to remove their crosses in order not to offend sensitivities of Jews praying at the Kotel.

The bishops refused to remove their religious symbols and stayed outside the barrier separating the prayer area form the Western Wall Plaza.
