Aryeh Locker, Chairman of the School Principals’ Association, has asked the Education Ministry to cancel the Bagrut (Matriculation) exams scheduled for this winter. Locker explained that students would not be prepared for the tests due to an ongoing Secondary School Teachers Association strike. The strike has lasted for almost one month.
Education Ministry officials and student groups expressed concern over the request, saying the tests should be held if possible. Canceling the tests would hurt weaker students, who may need to take the tests more than once, they said.
