An Arab man threw a Molotov cocktail at a house belonging to a Jewish family in Lod on Saturday night.  The attacker aimed at the gas balloons next to the house, but missed.  A fire broke out, damaging the building.  Police investigators have confirmed that the fire was definitely caused by a Molotov cocktail.

Ariel Ben-David, whose house was targeted in the attack, said his family barely noticed the explosion at first because they are used to violent attacks in the area.  He blamed the attack on the Arab takeover of historically Jewish neighborhoods, which he said had led increasingly hostile Arab youths to attempt to drive Jewish families away.  A house belonging to a neighboring Jewish family was recently targeted in a shooting attack.
