(IsraelNN.com) Brig.-Gen. Gal Hirsch, who resigned command of the 91st Division after the less-than-brilliant management of the Second Lebanon War, delivered a blistering attack on the IDF's top brass in a speech Sunday. "The war was not properly investigated and if another war should come, it may look like the last one," Hirsch said at the Kfar Saba Country Club.

"Norms befitting a bad political party's central committee have entered parts of the IDF," he said, "and it was tainted with dangerous politicization that could crack its foundations." Hirsch blamed the top level military command for not believing in its own plans and for "losing the basic values of leadership, mutual support and camaraderie… when things began going wrong."

Hirsch spoke at a ceremony launching a new book about the Second Lebanon War, by Amir Rapaport.
