Defense Minister Ehud Barak told the Cabinet Sunday that electricity to Gaza will be cut if terrorists continue to attack Israel, despite objections by Attorney General Menachem Mazuz. Earlier, Justice Minister Daniel Friedmann stated that Mazuz can give advice if he wants but that the government has the responsibility to decide on security matters.
The government previously threatened to cut power, but human rights groups appealed the decision to the High Court, which has given the government until this week to explain why it should be allowed to carry out its proposed policy.
