Pakistani opposition leader Benazir Bhutto attempted to leave her home in Islamabad Friday but was blocked by police, according to reports from the capital of Pakistan. Thousands of local police are laying siege to her home, and allowing no one in or out.
The cordon was reportedly placed in order to prevent Bhutto from addressing a large rally that will be held this evening in a suburb of the capital.
Spokesmen for the opposition party PPP said Bhutto still intends to speak at the rally.
