The Ukrainian government is threatening to obtain a court order to confiscate the gravesite of Rabi Nachman of Breslau in Uman, if the Hassidic Jews who operate the site do not pay millions of dollars they owe to a local businessman and politician.

The man was responsible for planning and constructing a new prayer area in the compound.

According to Channel 10 TV, "elements within the Breslau Hassidic movement" are threatening to disrupt next week's visit to Israel by Ukrainian President Victor Yushenko if the matter is not resolved.
