A thief was killed in a car accident on Monday shortly after stealing a car in Petach Tikva. The thief stole the car as the owner looked on. The owner called police, who began a 20-minute high-speed chase after the thief.
The thief entered the moshav of Kfar Sirkin and then attempted to do a u-turn. The maneuver went wrong, and the car slammed into a nearby tree and burst into flames. The driver was mortally wounded in the initial crash and was unable to free himself from the burning vehicle. Police managed to rescue the man from the stolen car, but paramedics were unable to save him, and he died shortly afterwards. The man’s name has not yet been released for publication.
