The Knesset will vote on three no-confidence measures on Monday. The National Union, National Religious Party, and United Torah Judaism have filed a no-confidence motion due to the government’s plan to cut financial support for foreign yeshiva students. The parties say the cuts will reduce the number of foreign students studying Torah in Israel and will negatively impact aliyah (immigration).
Likud has filed a no-confidence motion due to “the failure of the government’s policy in Gaza and Lebanon.” Arab parties have filed a no-confidence motion due to what they term “The conflagration in Gaza, the fear of escalation, and the collective punishment against residents.”
