Polish Jews Plan Skyscraper for Warsaw Ghetto

(IsraelNN.com) According to the Associated Press, leaders of Poland’s Jewish community plan to build a 680-foot skyscraper in the heart of what was once the Warsaw ghetto.  The skyscraper would be built next to the Nozyk synagogue, Warsaw’s only synagogue, and would include a second synagogue, a kosher restaurant, and commercial space.  Supporters say the plan would allow the Jewish community to be financially self-sufficient.

Community leader Piotr Kadlcik described the project as “crucial” to Jewish life in Warsaw, saying the community currently lacks space for its activities.  The project has not yet received approval from city officials, and its planners are still looking for investors to fund construction.
