The Histadrut national labor union will decide Sunday whether or not to join the striking Secondary School Teachers Association in pressuring the government to create better working conditions for teachers. Histadrut officials are considering calling for a full or partial public sector strike in order to increase pressure on the Finance Ministry.
Secondary School Teachers Association teachers have been on strike for over three weeks. The government has asked the National Labor Court to order the teachers to return to work. The court will issue its ruling on Sunday.
