As part of the events in Beit El marking the 30th anniversary of its establishment, the community's kindergarten children gathered in the central square Friday morning to celebrate.
The children were greeted by newly-reelected Mayor Moshe Rosenboim, who told the children he hoped they would be escorting their own kids to the community's 60th anniversary 30 years hence. Rosenboim said that if the number of children in Beit El is multiplied fivefold, "no one will be able to claim that this place is not ours."
Beit El is located near the site of biblical Beit El, in Samaria, where Yakov dreamt of the angels ascending and descending a ladder to Heaven.
