A Quebec, Canada commission has refused to hear a claim by a resident who complained he is forced to pay for kosher certificates for certain food products. "You don't deserve to be heard," Reasonable Accommodations of Minorities co-chairman Gerard Bouchard told the complainant, George Fillatreault.

The complaint stated that Kraft and Doyon companies pay $30,000 for kosher certification, resulting in a higher price and lack of choice for someone who does not want the certification. Bouchard called Filiatreault charge "anti-Semitic," and co-chairman Charles Taylor refuted the claim, saying that "it does not cost more to eat Kosher."
