The government will discuss the ongoing Secondary School Teachers Association strike on Sunday morning. The Knesset will vote Monday on a no-confidence motion filed by the Likud party in response to the strikes in the nation's public high schools and universities.
Sunday will be the 17th day of the strike. Officials in the Education and Finance ministries have threatened to go to the National Labor Court and ask that the teachers be ordered to return to work. In response, several hundred teachers have threatened to quit, and say they have already signed letters of resignation that will go into effect if they are ordered back to work before an agreement is reached.
