Hendrikus and Martha Snapper of Holland were recognized as “Righteous Among the Nations” on Thursday for their work in saving a Jewish family during the Holocaust. The Snappers, who had six children, sheltered Rosa de Hartog and found hiding places for her husband and five children. Hendrikus Snapper was active in a local underground movement as well.
The two were honored in a ceremony at the Yad VaShem Holocaust memorial project in Jerusalem.
