Alon Davidi, head of the Sderot Task Force, said Thursday that Defense Minister Ehud Barak’s plan to temporarily cut of electricity to Gaza in response to ongoing rocket attacks was insulting. Barak’s announcement was an attempt to mislead the residents of Sderot and the Israeli public, he said.
Cutting off electricity “is a useful tool for Electric Company workers fighting to improve their conditions,” Davidi said. “But in the war on terror, it is taken as a sign of weakness and a desperate and ineffective step.”
