Police have arrested two Jewish men who kidnapped a new oleh (immigrant to Israel) upon his arrival from Germany and held him for ransom.
The two men held him hostage for two weeks in an apartment, where they administered violence and abused him. They demanded a ransom of $320,000 from the new immigrant’s family and released the captive once the family paid the sum.
The two men’s custody has been extended by two days.
