Leftist and Arab Arsonists Released

According to the left-wing extremist group Rabbis for Human Rights, the two men arrested for lighting a blaze near the hilltop community of Chavat Gilad have been released from prison and house arrest respectively.

Reform rabbi Arik Ascherman, who founded and heads the group, claimed in a statement that the arson was not as serious as residents claimed. "Zacharia was freed and Yahav was released from house arrest after Chavat Gilad settlers began cursing the police rather than cooperate in a reenactment and it became clear that the 'arson' was a few briars along the side of the main road 100 meters from the entrance to the Chavat Gilad access road,"

The radical group is still seeking volunteers to take part in olive harvests adjacent to Jewish communities and other activist endeavors. The group's office can be reached at 02 648 2757 (972 2 6482757 from overseas) and Ascherman at 050 560 7034 (972 50 5607034 from overseas).
