Rabin Memorial Omits His Opposition to PA State

The Foreign Ministry has issued information commemorating the death of Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin and included his speeches for peace with the Palestinian Authority (PA) but omitted his speech opposing an independent PA state. The Foreign Ministry noted Rabin's speeches that called for peace with Palestinian Authority (PA) without mentioning a speech he delivered to the Knesset in 1995 in which he declared that the PA "entity...is less than a state."

In the same speech, he also stated that "united Jerusalem...will include both Ma'aleh Adumim and Givat Zev." Rabin said at the time, "There are no two Jerusalems. There is only one Jerusalem. As far as we are concerned, Jerusalem is not a matter for compromise."
