Defense Minister Ehud Barak has decided to begin a campaign teaching civilians how to behave in case of war or a chemical weapons attack. The campaign was postponed earlier in the year, when officials feared that the campaign would cause panic due to tensions with Syria. The campaign is currently scheduled to begin in the middle of November.
During the campaign, civilians will receive pamphlets explaining how to react in the case of biological or chemical attack, how to select and seal one room in the house, how to react to various types of alarms, and where to find help in case of need.
While the official campaign was postponed, the Home Front Command launched a website in September with information about safety during wartime and reacting to chemical attacks. To see the site in English, click here.
