President Shimon Peres has warned that the world must "open its eyes before it is too late" to stop Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's nuclear development program. He made the comment the day after American President George W. Bush stated that failure to stop the un-inspected nuclear program could lead to World War III.

"Many times in history it was too late to stop the immoral and horrible spilling of blood," President Peres stated. "That is the way it was with Stalin, that is the way it was with Hitler and now we are close to a similar circumstance with Ahmadinejad. Iran must not be allowed to become an extreme religious Persian empire that rules the Middle East."
