Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, who is en route to Russia for talks with President Vladimir Putin, will discuss the fate of kidnapped IDF soldiers, according to the London-based Al Hayat Arabic language newspaper. It quoted Russian sources as saying Putin discussed the issue on his trip earlier this week to Iran.
A Saudi newspaper claimed that Israel and Hizbullah are close to reaching an accord on the release of kidnapped IDF soldiers Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev. It reported that both Israel and Hizbullah are willing to back down from some of their demands.
Prime Minister is visiting Moscow two days after Putin reportedly made a new proposal to Iran concerning its development of a nuclear reactor, which Russia is building.
