Tanzim Terrorist Was Part of Olmert's Amnesty Accord

The Tanzim terrorist who was killed by IDF forces on Tuesday was one of those who was granted amnesty by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on condition that he not continue in terrorist operations, the IDF stated. The Tanzim terrorist group is an affiliate of Fatah, the faction led by Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas.

The Tanzim terrorist, Basen Hamis Abu-Suria, was a senior leader in the Shechem cell and was behind suicide bombings and shooting attacks on IDF soldiers. He cooperated with Hamas and established ties with Hizbullah.
