Mofaz: Jerusalem Will Not Be Divided

(IsraelNN.com) Transportation and Road Safety Minister Shaul Mofaz vowed Tuesday morning that "Jerusalem will not be divided." He told Voice of Israel government radio that "Jews from all over the world" are connected to the unified capital. The Kadima minister also pointed out that the Knesset in 1980 passed a law making the city part of Israel and that Knesset Members will not pass a law changing the status.

The former IDF Chief of Staff also pointed out that surrendering control of Arab neighborhoods in Jerusalem would allow terrorists connected with Hamas and Iran to pose an immediate threat to the rest of the city.

He also said that the issue of Jerusalem should not be discussed at the planned Middle East conference in Annapolis, Maryland. "Anyone who wants to discuss the status of Jerusalem at Annapolis wants to cause its failure," he declared.
