MK Tzvi Hendel (NU/NRP) said Monday that he pitied Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, “who appears to have lost his mental calm.” Olmert spoke earlier at a ceremony honoring slain Tourism Minister Rehavam Ze’evi and praised Ze’evi for his love of the land of Israel while telling those present that Ze’evi had been among the first to propose an independent Arab state west of the Jordan River.
Olmert’s portrayed Ze’evi “as unfaithful to the land of Israel,” Hendel said, adding “it’s apparently not possible to reach a lower point.” “If this is the man’s true mental state,” Hendel said, “then he is truly a danger to the state.”
