A Palestinian Authority Television (PATV) photojournalist was arrested Sunday by Hamas terrorists while covering a demonstration by rival Fatah supporters in the town of Jabaliya in northern Gaza.
PATV officials as well as the family of 34-year-old Nabil Abu Daya confirmed the arrest, which occurred as the cameraman was filming children visiting homes of residents who had lost family members to terrorism in Gaza. Hamas officials had no comment on the arrest.
Abu Daya’s family said he was covering the event for a private studio at the time of his arrest. Hamas, which has accused the Fatah-run PATV of being a mouthpiece for PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, banned broadcasts by the channel in Gaza several months ago.
