The management of the Union of High School Teachers decided Sunday to shut down the Jewish high school system indefinitely beginning Wednesday, after negotiations with the ministries of Education and Finance hit an impasse. The strike will affect middle schools employing members of the union.
The strike in the Arab sector will begin in ten days' time, according to the decision.
Analysts and experts have said that the strike is expected to last a long time, because the differences between the positions of the teachers and the government are quite deep.
