The rocket fired at Netivot Sunday morning was a "Grad" type Katyusha rocket, according to IDF sources. The IDF believes the rocket is of the same type and from the same shipment as another Katyusha that was fired at Bror Chayil while fighting raged in the north, in 2006.

Haaretz reported that the Gaza "People's Resistance Committees" took credit for the latest attack.

The Grad Katyusha's approximate range is 20 km or about 13 miles. A similar rocket was once fired at the Ashkelon Marina.
