(IsraelNN.com) The owner of the 1940s song "When You Wish Upon a Star" has sued Fox Broadcasting and others for issuing a parody of the song in a "When You Wish Upon a Weinstein" episode on a television series. A character in the series sings the parody after turning to a Jew to help straighten out his finances. Fox banned the program from its television series but distributed more than one million copies via home videos.

The song's writer and owner, Ned Washington, complained that the theme originally was one "of wholesome hopefulness" and that the lyrics in the spoof harm the value of the original.
