American State Department spokesman Sean McCormack this week dismissed as "posturing" a statement by Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas; statement that preparations for a new Arab state within Israel's current borders can be ready within six months.
Answering a reporter's question about Abbas's "peculiar comment," McCormack stated, "I'm not going to comment on every single pronouncement that comes out of the region. Within the next -- in the next couple of months, you’re going to see a lot of statements that come out on -- from one side or another, a lot of posturing."
