A car explosion that killed four Hamas marine police officers and wounded three others in Gaza Tuesday night may have been the result of an internal attack by Palestinian Authority militants.
IDF officials were quoted in a Channel 10 TV newscast as saying the car was hit by an anti-tank missile. There was no comment from PA officials, other than to say it was not clear what had caused the blast.
Earlier in the evening, the PA had blamed Israel for the explosion, saying the car had been hit by a missile fired from an offshore naval vessel. The IDF denied the charge and said no offensives had taken place.
