A tent city that was built in downtown Jerusalem as a protest against the lack of public housing will be removed tomorrow. According to Galei Tzahal, the protest is ending because the government has found housing solutions for most residents of the tent city.
The tent city has been present in downtown Jerusalem for almost four months. It was a temporary home for dozens of homeless families, most of them led by working parents with low income. The families are eligible for public housing, but did not receive sufficient housing assistance due to the lack of available housing.
