European Union (EU) policy advisor Javier Solana told the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee in New York this week, he "will always remember that night when we had dinner in Sderot and Kassam rockets started to be fired. These kind of experiences make me continue to struggle for peace." He recently was in Sderot with Foreign Minister Tzipi Lvni when they had to duck for cover during a Kassam rocket strike.
The committee is the only permanent international forum for Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA), and its convening in the United Nations headquarters was the highest level conference since the Oslo Accords.
