US: More Sanctions Against Iran

The United States Congress has approved a new set of sanctions against Iran.  The sanctions, which passed by a majority of 397 to 16, will forbid the US to make nuclear treaties with nations that cooperate with Iran.  Among the countries to be affected by the new law is Russia.

The new legislation is meant to remove the possibility of circumventing previous sanctions and to cut off all economic ties between Iran and the US.  The sanctions have not yet been approved by the Senate.
