Attorney General Menachem Mazuz told former Finance Minister Avraham Hirschson (Kadima) Monday afternoon that he is considering indicting him for fraud and misuse of public funds. Hirschson is suspected of taking money out of a fund for Holocaust survivors.
He resigned as Finance Minister after the Attorney General said he would order an investigation. Prime Minister Ehud Olmert served in his place for several months until political and public pressure forced him to give up the post. He named his close friend Ronnie Bar-On, who had been serving as Interior Minister.
