Approximately 20 Jewish gravestones have been uncovered in southwestern Germany, where excavation was being done for a planned housing project. Construction has been halted pending a decision whether the gravestones simply were relocated there or whether the site is an actual graveyard.
One expert said the discovery was a "sensation" and that some of the stones bear names of famous rabbis. Investigations are underway to determine if remains of bodies are buried at the site.
