The High Court a short time ago agreed to a request by the Jewish National Fund (JNF) to delay a ruling on whether Arabs can buy JNF land after an agreement was reached to market land to both Arabs and Jews. The JNF said it reached an accord with the Israelis Lands Administration that it would receive land in exchange for property sold to Arabs.
The JNF has tried to defend its long standing policy to buy land with contributions by Jews from around the world. However, Attorney General Menachem Mazuz has backed Arab groups who charged the JNF with discrimination in preventing them from bidding for residential properties.
The Arab petitioners rejected the deal and said it would appeal to the courts to void it.
