The first shipment of trains for the Jerusalem light railway has arrived at the Ashdod port, but continuing delays and disputes in construction have put back the project's completion at least for a year, if not longer.
Each car carries twice the number of passengers as a bus, Globes reported, and weighs between 24 and 33 tons. Construction of the system continues in and around Jerusalem, where traffic has been highly congested because of the building.
