Attorney General Menachem Mazuz has rejected a claim by Accountant General Yaron Zelicha that government funding to towns headed by Kadima officials was up to five times more than to other areas. The Attorney General's office said that a study of documents did not reveal any discrimination.
Zelicha declared that there was a discrepancy between amounts of money budgeted by the Interior Ministry and funds that should have been allocated according to standard criteria. Zelicha previously blew the whistle on an alleged offense against Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, who decided not to renew his term of office.
