The Knesset will convene in a special session Monday, and a stormy debate is expected on the Cabinet decision to release almost 100 Arab prisoners and terrorists. The National Union party initiated the special session.
As with earlier releases, the prisoners have signed an affidavit not to return to attacking Israelis, but evidence already has been produced that one of the recently released freed terrorists violated his pledge. Almost 200 Israelis have been killed by terrorists after the government freed them over the past several years.
