United States military officials have accused Iran of smuggling advanced weapons into Iraq.  According to the officials, Iran has been providing Iraqi terrorists with rockets, rocket propelled grenades, armor-piercing roadside bombs, and even portable surface-to-air missiles.

The US has arrested several Iranians in recent months in connection with terrorist activity in Iraq.  Soldiers recently detained an Iranian man in northern Iraq, a move criticized by Iraqi politicians, who said the man was in the country on business.
