The 90 prisoners approved for release by the cabinet Sunday morning as a goodwill gesture to Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas are not limited to members of Fatah, according to a report in Haaretz. The release is to mark Eid el Fitr, the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
Included among those to be freed are members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP).
The list originally included 100 prisoners, but 10 were removed after it was discovered they had “blood on their hands” meaning they were directly involved in the murder of Jews.
