Palestinian Authority spokesman Nimer Hamad claimed Sunday that the U.S. has agreed to invite Syria and Lebanon to the multi-nation Mideast summit scheduled to be held November in Washington, DC. U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice allegedly made the commitment during her meeting Thursday in Ramallah with PA Chairman and Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas.

According to the report by Haaretz, the invitation list for the summit now includes leaders from Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, Saudia Arabia and Syria.  All are members of the Arab League’s monitoring committee.
