Iran Denies Cooperating With Israel on Thai Crash
The bodies of the last two Israelis recovered from the scene of the plane crash in Thailand last week, Tzachi and Hofit Bitton, were brought to Israel Friday morning and buried a short time before the beginning of Yom Kippur.
On Saturday, Iran denied reports that its ambassador in Thailand had cooperated with Israeli teams in the identification of victims of the crash. The ambassador told Iranian media that “there was no contact between Iranian
consulate and a Zionist delegation for identifying the victims of the air
crash. The identification operation was totally conducted by Iranian and Thai
officials, and the
Islamic Republic of Iran does not recognize the Zionist regime let alone
seek their assistance.”
Eighteen (18) Iranians were among the 89 people killed in the accident.
