(IsraelNN.com) Iran displayed on Saturday a recently developed rocket that the country claims could reach any target in all of Israel. They also displayed their fighter jet, called Saegheh, which means lightning in Farsi. This was at a military parade in Tehran marking the anniversary of the Iran Iraq war, on the eve of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's appearance at the UN General Assembly next week.

The parade's theme seem to be an attempt to discourage Western countries from imposing economic sanctions against Iran over its lack of cooperation on military issues. There was no point in imposing sanctions, Iranian officials were quoted as saying, because “"With the production of various equipment, sanctions have become ineffective. We don't need foreigners.”
