Magen David Adom staff treated about 2,000 people over Yom Kippur, a spokesperson for the organization said. Most were treated for light injuries, including 87 who fainted during the course of the fast, 231 children injured in bicycle-related accidents, and 118 women who gave birth over the course of the holiday – including three who gave birth at home.

On Friday, an eight year old girl from Kfar Tavor riding her bicycle near a synagogue was seriously injured by an Arab driving an off-road vehicle. She later died of her wounds. There were eight traffic accidents on Erev Yom Kippur, with four people sustaining serious wounds.
